This was our third stay at Belle View. We never tire of the view!
This time we did Bishop Auckland deer park - would definitely recommend. Avoid Tunstall Reservoir in very wet weather however (muddy!!).

Excellent week, despite the rain! Revisiting old haunts and discovering new walks. Lovely warm cottage, well equipped with fab welcome tray. The Frosterley Inn, very welcoming pub, great Italian in Wolsingham too. Phil and Sue very friendly, but not intrusive. Perfect little garden, we didn't make use of the larger garden as Ruby and Nell like to dig! (Thought best to avoid that!). Perfect spot, thank you so much.

Fabulous week here. Wonderful views and walks from the door. A very welcome pack and lovely welcome from Phil and Sue. Very lucky with the weather, interesting storm last night. The difference in the river yesterday and today amazing to see all the waterfalls off the cliffs in the quarries. Thank you, we will be back.

Enjoyed our week in Belle View Cottage. We have been very warm and comfy. Thanks for the welcome pack. Weather has been quite good all week so we have done some lovely walks, but still plenty to do in this lovely area. Thanks once again!

A fine week in a lovely and cosy cottage with stunning views. So lucky with the weather, we dodged all the showers and heavier rain. Food wise, great too. Frosterley fish and chips thoroughly recommended, Buon Appetito in Wolsingham great too. Also mention Pegotty's deli in Wolsingham. Thanks for everything, Sue and Phil.

Glorious weather on our second visit to Belle View. As before, Phil and Sue great hosts with extensive knowledge of places to visit, walk and eat. Can recommend Stanhope Pizza Barn and the Copper Mine at Crook, excellent value and good food.

Really lovely stay, so much to see and do. Great walks from here. Loved fossiking for crystals above the cottage. Slitt Woods, the 'Forces'. Highly recommend the bakers in Stanhope. We will return!

Perfect cottage for my visit to the dog trials in the area. We had everything we needed - apart from the sun... but who wants 30 degrees anyway??? Dogs loved bunny watching! I loved the quiet and the views across to the wood.

Just coming to the end of our second stay at Belle View Cottage. It has been as wonderful, peaceful and beautiful as last time. Sue & Phil are amazing hosts and the cottage is the best we have stayed in. Couple this with the Weardale setting, which is stunning and you have a walking holiday…a restful holiday…it’s up to you…loads to do, or just chill…

We have been so lucky with the weather, hot sun every day. Love it here at Belle View, don't want to go home!! The views, peace, walks all have been perfect and so relaxing. Very well equipped cottage. Thank you Phil and Sue. We will be back.

Our second wonderful stay here at Belle View. We love the homely feel, everything is catered for and the games/DVDs are great for an 8 year old. Thank you Sue and Phil for being such fantastic hosts, nothing is too much trouble. We will be back - if you will have us! x

Wonderfully warm and welcoming. Everything you could need in the cottage and info for outside it. Never seen so many bird species on one day. Great place for outings and for staying put. A strong feeling of generosity pervades. Thank you, Sue and Phil. 'Bliss on a hill'.

Our first holiday in 3 years, and what an amazing holiday we have had! The cottage is just perfect offering a home from home. Sue and Phil are lovely hosts and extremely welcoming and helpful. So much to see and do, with fabulous walks galore. We'll definitely be back.

Lovely cottage, fantastic views and walks. The cottage has everything you need, my son enjoyed playing on the Wii games. Phil and Sue are perfect hosts and gave us helpful information on where to visit. We enjoyed our visit to Blanchland on our last day.

We had an amazing stay at Belle View.. a gorgeous cottage in the middle of such beautiful countryside.. views in all directions! Phil and Sue were so friendly and helpful giving us lots of ideas for places to visit and eat out!
Very well equipped and comfortable cottage which was spotlessly clean. Many thanks for the welcome hamper of biscuits and wine.
We shall definitely be returning to this beautiful cottage!

What a fabulous place to stay. Phil and Sue offered up some interesting places to visit, all dog friendly. High and Low Force was fantastic. Our dogs will probably sulk when we get home. The Black Bull in Wolsingham is a fantastic place to drink and get a bite to eat.

Enjoyed our stay at Belle View. A really nice homely cottage with everything at hand. Plenty of walks around the cottage and at the various towns we visited. Highly recommend Bishop Auckland Town Hall. Tasty scones with clotted cream. Also, big thanks to our hosts Phil and Sue for info and welcome pack.

Second time staying and already planning our next stay. Phil and Sue are brilliant hosts and the cottage is an absolute gem with amazing views and everything you could need to enjoy a relaxing stay (as relaxing as can be with a 4 year old!) fantastic local walks and phil is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to some great walks elsewhere. Belle View cottage is just so lovely. The views are breathtaking. The surrounding area is wonderful, so many places to walk, so peaceful.
The cottage itself is everything you could ever want, warm and cosy, spotless, well equipped. All of this is down to hosts they are just so kind and make sure you have a good holiday.
We hope to be able to go back to Belle View soon. 10/10
