Belle View Cottage Details
Belle View Cottage was lovingly converted 30 years ago from old farm buildings. The owners, Phil and Sue, live in the adjoining house and are keen walkers and are always happy to recommend walks, whether short strolls or serious hikes. The area is stunningly beautiful and full of industrial heritage from the lead mines and quarries in the area, as well as rich in wildlife - we have had many types of birds in the garden including Greater Spotted Woodpeckers, Woodcock and Cuckoos, with Grouse, Curlews and Oystercatchers on the moor around us. Our other close neighbours are sheep and of course their lambs.
The cottage sleeps 3 people (one king, one single room) and includes WiFi, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier, towels, bed linen, 43” television, Blu-Ray DVD player and Wii, plus there is parking for two cars and secure bike storage. We welcome guests with up to two well-behaved dogs.
We don't have e-charging facilities at the cottage, but guests with electric cars will find charging points in the Dale, the nearest being at Stanhope, 6 miles away.
Included in the price:
Oil fired central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels, tea towels, oven gloves and Wifi. Guest also receive a welcome pack including biscuits, milk, tea and coffee to get you started.
We have available on request a high chair, baby bath and stair gate for the single bedroom (its not possible to fit one on the stairs).

Sitting Room
Comfortable living/dining room with electric coal fire effect, 43" Freesat TV, DVD Blu-Ray player and Wii and games. There are also plenty of books and DVDs.
With lovely views over the garden and moors; we loan binoculars to help guests spot the many birds who visit the garden.
Separate well-equipped Kitchen
The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, tumble drier, washing machine, coffee maker, toaster and kettle.
First Floor
King size Bedroom
Bedroom 1 has king size bed and stunning views over the garden and moors on the opposite hillside.
Single Bedroom
The second Bedroom has a single bed. The room has a sloping ceiling.
Outside Space
The Cottage Garden
There is a small, enclosed garden for the private use of our guests, with chairs, table and a barbecue; a real suntrap in the mornings.
Just the spot for your morning coffee as you plan your next exciting adventure (or a relaxing day!).
Main Garden
You are very welcome to sit in the main garden to fully enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the area, as well as admire those amazing views.
Main Garden
You'll hear lots of birdsong as you sit and admire the view. Please be aware that the main garden is not secure, so you may want to bring along an extender lead for your dog.
